The 30×30 Global Biodiversity Framework, focus on reducing threats to marine biodiversity

This poster was produced as part of a regional Sustainable Ocean Initiative (SOI) capacity-building workshop for States of the Atlantic and Mediterranean coasts of Africa, held in Dakar, Senegal, from February 10 to 13, 2025.
This workshop, organized by the Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity, with the help of a team from the University of Brest, aimed to bring together regional players in marine conservation, in order to share their experiences in implementing the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework (GBF), and in particular Target 3, dedicated to the 30×30 objective.
This poster illustrated the implications for marine conservation of Targets 1 to 8 of the GBF, which aim to reduce threats to biodiversity, notably through the establishment of Marine Protected Areas or Other Effective Conservation Measures.
